Was ist ein Sozialantrag?

Der Sozialantrag ist eine Möglichkeit für Studierende in finanziellen Schwierigkeiten beim StuRa die Übernahme des Semesterbeitrags zu beantragen.

Wer kann einen Sozialantrag stellen?

Jeder Student der TH Wildau kann einen Sozialantrag beim StuRa stellen, soweit in seinem/ihrem Fall eine besondere finanzielle Härte vorliegt. Dabei handelt es sich immer um eine Einzelfallentscheidung des StuRa. Gemäß der Satzung zum Sozialfonds liegt eine besondere Härte beispielsweise vor, wenn nach der jeweiligen Studienordnung ein Praktikum mit mindestens 30 Stunden Arbeitszeit pro Woche ohne Förderung nach dem BAföG oder einer anderen finanziellen Unterstützung zu leisten ist oder, wenn Studierende aufgrund ihres Alters keine Förderung nach dem BAföG mehr erhalten können.

Regelmäßig liegt eine ähnliche besondere Härte auch vor, wenn es dir aufgrund besonderer Umstände nicht möglich ist zum Beispiel durch Arbeit, deinen grundlegenden Lebensunterhalt zusätzlich zur Zahlung des Semesterbeitrags zu bestreiten.

Welche Unterlagen müssen eingereicht werden?

Den Antrag findest du hier.  Zusätzlich musst du alle Unterlagen einreichen, die deine aktuelle finanzielle Situation abbilden.

Zur Bearbeitung benötigen wir unbedingt:

  • Kontoauszüge aller Konten und Depots der letzten drei Kalendermonate
  • Immatrikulationsbescheinigung
  • Mietvertrag bzw. Aussage zur Mietsituation
  • Krankenkassenbescheid über die Höhe der Beträge

Wenn zutreffend sind auch einzureichen:

  • BAföG Bescheid
  • Bescheid über Stipendien
  • Halbwaisen- / Waisenrentenbescheid
  • Wohngeldbescheid
  • Lohnzahlungsbeleg
  • Unterhaltsbescheinigung, Pflegeversicherungsbescheid
  • Sonstige Vermögensunterlagen

Bis wann muss ich den Antrag an wen stellen?

Den Antrag mit allen notwendigen Unterlagen kannst du postalisch an den StuRa oder per E- Mail an soziales@stura-wildau.de schicken. Für das Wintersemester ist der Bearbeitungszeitraum vom 01. April bis zum 30. April und für das Sommersemester vom 01. Oktober bis zum 31. Oktober.

Wie geht es nach Abgabe des Antrags weiter?

Der Antrag wird dann durch das Referat Soziales bearbeitet. Anschließend stimmt der StuRa über den Antrag ab. Nach der Entscheidung wirst du umgehend über die Entscheidung des StuRa informiert und erhältst einen entsprechenden Bescheid. Dies dauert im Regelfall ca. 2 bis 4 Wochen.

Was kann ich tun, wenn mein Antrag abgelehnt wurde oder ich keinen Antrag stellen kann?

Wird dein Antrag abgelehnt oder kannst du keinen Antrag stellen, besteht immer die Möglichkeit sich an das Sachgebiet „Studentische Angelegenheiten“ der Technischen Hochschule Wildau zu wenden und gemeinsam nach einer anderen Lösung zu suchen. Für internationale Studierende bietet das College International der TH Wildau zusätzlich Beratungen an. In besonders schweren Situationen kann auch die Sozialberatung des Studentenwerks Potsdam dir weiterhelfen.

What is a social application?

The social application is an opportunity for students in financial difficulties to apply to the StuRa to have their semester fees paid.

Who can submit a social application?

Every student at the TH Wildau can submit a social application to the StuRa if there is a particular financial hardship in his/her case. This is always a case-by-case decision by the StuRa. According to the statutes of the social fund, a special hardship exists, for example, if, according to the respective study regulations, an internship with at least 30 hours of work per week must be completed without funding under the BAföG or if students do not receive funding under the BAföG due to their age.

Generally, a similar particular hardship also exists if, due to special circumstances, it is not possible for you to cover your basic living expenses in addition to paying the semester contribution, for example by working.

Which documents must be submitted?

You can find the application form here.  In addition, you must submit all documents that reflect your current financial situation.

We absolutely need the following for processing:

  • Bank statements of all accounts and deposits of the last three calendar months
  • Certificate of enrolment
  • Tenancy agreement or statement on the rental situation
  • Health insurance certificate on the amount of the contributions

If relevant, please also submit:

  • BAföG notification
  • Notification of scholarships
  • Half-orphan / orphan’s pension certificate
  • Notice of “Wohngeld”
  • Pay slip
  • Maintenance certificate, long-term care insurance certificate
  • Other financial documents

By when do I have to submit the application and to whom?

You can send the application with all the necessary documents by post to the StuRa or easy by email to soziales@stura-wildau.de. The processing period for the winter semester is from 1 April to 30 April and for the summer semester from 1 October to 31 October.

What happens after the application has been submitted?

The application is then processed by the Social Affairs Department. The StuRa then votes on the application. Once the decision has been made, you will be informed of the StuRa’s decision immediately and will receive a corresponding notification. This usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks.

What can I do if my application has been rejected or I am unable to submit an application?

If your application is rejected or you are unable to submit an application, you can try to contact the „Student Affairs“ department at Wildau University of Applied Sciences and work together to find another solution. For international students, the College International of the TH Wildau also offers counselling. In particularly difficult situations, the social counselling service of the Studentenwerk Potsdam can also help you.
